RE:COLLECTION

re:collection captures the ‡Khomani San's fight to reclaim ancestral remains from where they lie unceremoniously in limbo in South Africa's National Museum. The film explores the historic roots of racism in science, the genocide of the San, and efforts to restore dignity and spiritual integrity to a marginalised community.

IMPACT

Production company MED CINE, teams up with Sunshine Cinema to screen their film in rural Karoo communities using a solar-powered mobile cinema vehicle. Together with a small crew, !AITSA will begin its journey through the country, using the film as a catalyst for community engagement and knowledge exchange. As a gesture of gratitude to the communities that inspired the film.  Through shared experiences and storytelling, the outreach project now aims to foster cultural dialogue, inclusivity and a platform for all voices to be heard.
